Fruit and Flowers
Fruit Produced:
The cottonwood tree's fruit ripens from May to June in drooping (racemes) with many seeds in each pod. Each seed has cotony hairs to enable wind travel.
Flowers Produced:
The flowers are born seperately on male and female trees from Feb. through May.
